On Life and Living is a new documentary play written by Casey Stainsby, Amy Collier and Adjani Poirier and directed by Lorna Craig.

Based on interviews of past and present AIDS Community Care Montreal (ACCM) members, staff and volunteers ‘On Life and Living’ weaves together a story of the organization’s history using memories as a primary source. The play follows eight semi-fictionalized characters over a period of twenty-eight years as they recall their first encounters with the organization, experience some of ACCM’s pivotal moments, and grapple with the changing face of HIV/AIDS in Montreal.

Performances took place at L’Espace la Risée (1258 Rue Bélanger, Montréal, QC) on the following days:

Friday November 20th – 8 PM – RESERVATIONS FULL – tickets available at the door
Saturday November 21st – 8 PM – RESERVATIONS FULL – tickets available at the door
Sunday November 22nd – 2 PM – RESERVATIONS FULL – tickets available at the door

Ticket Reservations

Tickets can be paid in CASH ONLY at the box office on the night of the performance.
To reserve tickets, send an email to on.life.and.living@gmail.com with the following information:

• Your name
• Phone number
• Number of tickets requested
• Date and time of performance

Ticket costs are sliding scale, with a suggested donation of between 5$ – $20 with a policy of no one being turned away for lack of funds. All of the money from ticket sales will be donated to AIDS Community Care Montreal.

Front door: 32” across

Lobby door: 34” across

There will be an access ramp to the front entrance, dimensions coming soon.

There are two non-gendered bathrooms available on site:

Bathroom #1 (one urinal, one stall)
Door: 29.5” across, 4” of slope up Passage/corner: 33” across Stall entrance: 2’ across
Toilet height: 15” No railings.

Bathroom #2 (no urinals, two stalls with toilets)
Door: 28” wide, 4.5” of slope up (1.5” higher than floor)
Stall #1 – entrance: 22” across, toilet height: 16”
Stall #2 – entrance: 21.5” across, toilet height: 15”
No railings.

The show is roughly 2 hours long, with a 15 minute intermission halfway through.

There will be 22 STM single-fare tickets available at each show. Just ask at the box office desk. Maximum 2 per person per show.
